There is so much more that can be learned and accomplished by working with a team of your peers rather than working on your own. There is also an opportunity to strengthen your skills as a leader by mentoring others on a team.

The New York City Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (the “ALANYC”), is a network of approximately 500 leaders from leading New York, national, and global law firms and corporate legal departments.

The ALANYC was founded in 1977 and is the largest chapter of the Associations of Legal Administrators. We represent a diverse group of management professionals with a shared goal of continued professional development “to enhance the knowledge and professionalism of our members and increase the visibility and credibility of the profession of legal administration.”

Providing “high-quality educational programs” and developing the leadership skills of our members is our mission and vision. Our educational programs focus on developing our members’ skills in the functional areas of finance, human resources, information technology and office operations management and advancing leadership capabilities in the areas of organizational development, communication and self-management skills. Our luncheon programs highlight dynamic, motivational and educational speakers; we feature a full-day Educational Symposium and Exposition; and provide the accredited resources and education track for certification as a Certified Legal Manager (CLM)SM.
